The Rain tables are unique pieces of furniture made with artworks created by the rain. Inspired by one the most precious materials on Earth, Andere Monjo explores the poetics of water and its natural traces letting the rain drops to intervene in the creation process of water colours. Each surface is exclusive and crafted one at a time, integrating rain prints within hand-distressed mirrors to create marbled textures that remind to the imaginary of the cosmos.

All the Rain tables are made to order and produced locally.

Andere Monjo works and lives in the countryside of Empordà (Spain) where she creates all of her pieces, working across different disciplines, from mixed media artworks to sculpture and object design.

Her practice is centred on the poetics of uncontrolled processes, focusing most of her work on the fluidity of natural cycles and the evolution of material transformation.

As a result of an impulse, her pieces become something experiential that begins by connecting with the sensorial, the intimate and the intuitive. This procedure in her artistic exploration, leaves an inner trail that transmutes and it is transformative.

Andere also leads workshops in her local area, accompanying people to explore into creative processes, turning them into a therapeutic experience.

 

Graduated from Central Saint Martins School (London, 2009) Andere Monjo has exhibited in New York, London, Paris, Switzerland, Belgium and Milan.
